Our Little Ladybug

There are no words to explain how it feels to look at this sweet little face and know that she is our daughter!!!  We are so blessed and can't wait to finally meet her.

We sent a Hello Kitty purse full of goodies for Lily with another family who traveled this summer.  This picture was made on the day she got her purse.  The sweet couple who delivered the gifts said she was so excited as she looked at her things.  The wife helped her put on her new headband...isn't she beautiful??

Sunday Snapshot {Our Perfect Gift}

Every good and perfect gift is from above. (James 1:17)

Our little ladybug checking out the moon cakes we sent her for the Moon Festival.

She is absolutely perfect.  We are so in love with this sweet girl.

Look at how her hair is growing!!!  We also noticed that her teeth are completely in now.  In the first photos we got, she was missing her front teeth.  We've watched them come in with each updated picture. It's a little sad to know that we missed that milestone.  It will be so much fun to celebrate all of her "firsts".  We've got a lot to make up for...looking forward to every second that we'll spend with our Lily.

So many are praying and we appreciate it so much.  Please keep praying that our paperwork moves quickly.  We want this baby home by Christmas :)  Also, please lift up Trent's Daddy in the coming weeks.  He will start his second round of chemo this week.  Pray with us for healing!

Over the Moon!!!

So very excited to get new pictures of our Lily Joy today!!!  We sent her a Moon Festival package and got photos of her sharing her goodies with her friends.   Each time that we get a picture, I fall in love with her even more.  Lily means beauty...she is definitely our beautiful joy!!

Gifts to China with Love is excellent!!!  Sheri and Katherine have a wonderful relationship with the SWI and are able to get photos and updates so easily.  So very blessed by these two ladies :)

Still Counting

Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him (Psalm 37:7)

We have been waiting on LOA for 40 days.  This Mama is tired of waiting.  It's a struggle most days not to just sit and cry.  There is no doubt that it WILL happen and Lily WILL come home.  I'm just so anxious for some news.   Praying it won't be too much longer and trusting that God's timing is perfect.

Happy Moon Festival Y'all!!!

We sat outside tonight and celebrated the Chinese Moon Festival.  We lit our "Lily Lanterns", read the story of Hou Yi and Chang-O, and ate our version of Moon Cakes.  Mostly, we thought about our sweet little girl a world away just waking up and starting her day.  We sent her a gift and a letter for Moon Festival telling her that we would be looking up at that big moon and wishing she was home with us.

 Mary Ashtyn and Reece enjoyed our Moon Festival celebration!

Our Moon Cakes, chocolate cake with white chocolate icing...YUMMY

Our Lily Lanterns

It was special night for us.  Now, it's time for bed...dreaming of the next Moon Festival when the five of us will be together.  Sweet dreams!!

Really?!!?

We have been logged in for 31 days!!!  WOW!  I am so happy to say that it has gone by more quickly than I thought.  I also have to admit that I did break down and sob a few nights ago because I want my baby home, NOW!  It is a relief to know that we have 4 weeks behind us.  Our I800 paperwork is ready so that we can send it in just as soon as we get LOA.

Just look what was in our bedroom yesterday....

Yep...that is a LADYBUG!!!  The Chinese believe it's a good luck sign.  No doubt that God has a plan for us, but He has control of those ladybugs too :)  We camped during Spring Break last year...the RV was invaded by ladybugs.   A few weeks later, we saw our daughter's face for the first time when we weren't even looking for her!!   This summer we pulled up to get the mail and there was a ladybug on the mailbox.  Inside the mailbox was our fingerprint appointment letter.  So, ladybugs mean that good news is on the way!!!  Does this mean our LOA is getting close???  YES, PLEASE!!!

Pray, pray, pray for LOA!

Sunday Snapshot {Control}

Another family will be traveling in a few weeks to meet their beautiful daughter in the same SWI as our Lily.  They are going to take this teddy bear to our little ladybug.

 The worst part of waiting is the loss of control.  Everything in our life right now is totally out of our control.  The little girl that we dream about and want to hold in our arms is a world away.  We have no control of when we can get to her.  Trent's Daddy is sick.  He'll start chemotherapy on Tuesday.  We have no control over this stupid cancer.  If I had ANY control, my baby girl would be home with us and cancer would not exist.  Oh, how I wish I was in control!!

I'm not and it's hard.  I am so thankful that God has plans for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us...plans to give us hope and a future.  Please pray with us for healing for Trent's Daddy.  We have no control over sickness, but our God does!!
