My Big Kids

  Our blog started after we found Lily.  Most of my posts are about her, but while we wait, I'm blessed to spend every day with my "big kids".

 

They keep us busy, which is so nice while we wait for Lily.  They keep us laughing, which is such a blessing.  

I love my big kids...it's just hard to believe that they are old enough to be the big kids!!

I know the secret!!!

How many times have we wished that we could just make time stand still??  It goes by so fast and we don't want our kids to grow up that fast...right??  I discovered the secret to make time almost completely stop~just submit a dossier to China, get really excited when you get your LID (log in date), and miraculously ...TIME WILL STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

There are 10 spots on the ladybug for the 10 days that we have been waiting for LOA. 
ONLY 10 days, they have been the ssssssssssllllllllllllllllooooooooooowwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeessssssssssttttttttttt of my life.  Wow!!  Some people have been waiting for over 100 days, I can't even imagine!!

Today, I have completed my I800 application, changed our insurance coverage, played the Wii with Reece, taken a nap, picked Mary Ashtyn up from a friend's house, looked at Lily's pictures a million times, ordered a Moon Festival care package for her, wrote a letter to go with her package, and it's not even time to go to bed ...we haven't even had dinner yet.  HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass … Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him. ( Psalm 37:4,7)

Only a week??

It feels like we got LID months ago...has it really only been 7 days???   WOW!  This wait is going to feel like forever.  Soooooo anxious to get to Lily Joy.

Please pray with us that we get our LOA much sooner than expected.  We were told we still have 5-6 months until travel.  God can do it faster and we have faith that our sweet girl will be home exactly as He plans!!

We have heard from so many prayer warriors since we started our adoption.  Please lift Trent's Dad in prayer throughout the coming weeks.  He has cancer and will be going to Tampa on 8/30 for a confirmed diagnosis of the type and to get a treatment plan.  We know our God is mighty to save...I beg you to pray with us for Mr. Tommy.  Thanks!

Happy Birthday

My best friend turned 40 today.  What???  How did that happen so fast??  Where did the time go?? It doesn't seem possible, but our kids are in middle school, we've been married for 16 years, and time really does fly when you're having fun.  So, of course my husband/best friend is 40.  Has it really been 24 years since I asked him to my Jr. High Cheerleader party???  Wow!!  We've been through so much together...college, job hunting, infertility, 2 adoptions and that was just in our 20's!!  We spent our 30's enjoying every minute with Mary Ashtyn and Reece. 

Trent is starting out his 40's with a whole new adventure.  A big step of faith that will bring our third child home from China. I'm so blessed to make this journey with my best friend.

A Reminder

We're anxious....worried....nervous...scared.  God knows our hearts and He understands that sometimes we need a reminder that He is with us.  As Trent drove home from work this afternoon, he was worried and anxious about his Daddy.  He pulled into the garage and found this moth...

 

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

So thankful for God's reminders of His love.  Please whisper a prayer for Trent's Dad and our family tomorrow.

Sunday Snapshot {Goodbye Summer}

We are so blessed to have the summer off to enjoy with our kids.  We've loved every minute of the past 2 months.  It's so hard to believe that it's over!!  Trent and I will start back to work this week.

 

It's even harder to believe that my "babies" will both be in middle school this year!!  Mary Ashtyn will be in seventh grade and Reece will be a  fifth grader.

 We started our summer dreaming about Lily...still dreaming about the day she will be home with us.
